Rajput is means 'Son of a King'. after harshavardhana, only one powerful dynasty was born in india which ruled the whole of india and that dynasty was the Gurjara-Pratihara Dynasty. after the end of the gurjara-pratihara dynasty, in this era, india was divided into many small and big kingdoms which used to fight amongst themselves. their kings were called 'Rajputs' and this era from 7th to 12th century has been called 'Rajput Era'.
